Uses and definitions of 1.1 instruments
INTROS steel wire rope detector is a kind of instrument for non-destructive and on-site detection of steel wire ropes, which is used in cranes, elevators and lifts, aerial ropeways, bridges, mine lifts and other similar fields. The instrument can quantitatively detect the loss of metal cross-sectional area (LMA) of the cable and detect local defects (LF), such as discontinuous defects such as broken wires or local changes in the structure of the wire rope.
LMA is the relative test value of the loss of iron-based materials. It is measured from a certain position along the wire rope. A reference point on the wire rope is selected to represent the normal metal cross-sectional area. The measurement is carried out by comparing the readings of the current point with the reference point.
LF represents the discontinuity of the wire rope, such as broken or broken wire, rust pit, fatigue groove or other mechanical discontinuity that destroys the integrity of the wire rope. The surface and internal of the wire rope under test can be measured.
1.2 working principle
INTROS steel wire rope detector adopts magnetic principle, and the magnetic head makes the measured steel wire rope magnetically saturated. When the wire rope passes through the magnetic head, the instrument detects the wire rope. Any change in the cross-sectional area of the wire rope and the non-continuity (such as bad wire or broken wire, rust pit, etc.) will affect the change of magnetic leakage flow. These changes are detected by a magnetically sensitive sensor, which is located in the middle of the magnetic pole of the magnetic head, next to the wire rope. The signals obtained by the sensors are output to a host for operation and display.

Steel wire ropes of circular and rectangular cross-section (including steel wire ropes of lock wire structure)
Steel core and hemp core wire rope
Galvanized and uncoated cables

INTROS wire rope detector is suitable for indoor and outdoor detection. The instrument is fully used in different environments and meets IP54 or IP65 and explosion-proof requirements (optional). Can be used in coal mines, oil, gas production and other harsh environments.
The wire rope tester can be adjusted according to the specific process. The wire rope shall be prepared before testing. The head must be wrapped around the cable.
