Company Introduction

Established in 2004 as a Sino-German joint venture, Luoyang BECOT Scientific Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BECOT” or “we”) is a national high-tech enterprise dedicated to scientific and technological innovation in the field of friction drive system safety. After 20 years of exploration and development, BECOT has grown into a corporate group whose products cover the upstream and downstream of the product chain of friction drive systems such as wire ropes, friction liners and lubricating greases, and whose market occupies the fields of mining, metallurgy, petroleum, ports, cableways, etc.

In cooperation with several Russian and German companies, University of Stuttgart (Germany) and AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland), we have undertaken a series of research projects on high-performance friction liners, industrial lubricants, structural selection of special wire ropes, non-destructive testing technology for large-diameter wire ropes, technology for predicting the remaining life of wire ropes, etc. With the approval of the Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province, we have set up the “Henan International Science and Technology Cooperation Base” and “Henan Friction Drive System Engineering Technology Research Center”.

In addition, from 2014 to 2020, we undertook a number of key research projects and successfully implemented them, including the technical research on “NDT-based Life Prediction for Wire Ropes of Large Friction Hoists”, a China-EU cooperation program under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the “Failure Analysis and Safety Protection of Balance Tail Ropes of Multi-Rope Friction Hoists for Coal Mines”, an annual project under the State Administration of Work Safety, the “Inspection Robots for Feeder-supported Cables”, a special intelligent robot project in the National Key Research and Development Program of China, etc. The approval and implementation of a series of national key/major projects have further endorsed our scientific research strength.

In recent years, BECOT’s comprehensive capacity in technology research and development has been highly recognized by the state and the industry. With the approval of the State Administration of Work Safety, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China and other departments, our self-developed “Magnetic Flaw Detector for Mining Wire Ropes” has been listed in the Catalog Promoting Advanced Safety Technology and Equipment. Our “Bridge Cable Inspection Robot” has been selected by the MIIT as one of the Excellent Scenarios of Applications of Robotics in Construction. In addition, we were invited to participate in the revision of the national standard Practice for Electromagnetic Examination of Ferromagnetic Steel Wire Rope (GB21837). Furthermore, the Technical Specifications for Non-destructive Testing of Bridge Tension Cables with BECOT as the chief editor and the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Tsinghua University as the co-editors issued in 2022 fills the gaps in the product technology field and market application field regarding China’s current industry of non-destructive testing of bridge stayed-cables.

We will continue to seek new paths of independent innovation, support the industry development with technology research and development as a new driving force, and provide comprehensive solutions to the safe operation of industry equipment.
