The deformation of the wire rope is generally caused by mechanical damage, which has a great influence on the strength of the wire rope in severe cases. Many rope breakage accidents are caused by the deformation and damage of the wire rope in advance, which has not caused enough reproduction of people, resulting in a catastrophe.This article analyzes the main causes of wire rope deformation for you.:

1Trauma: during the operation, the wire rope is caused by abnormal contact with other equipment. The most obvious trauma is that the wire rope jumps out of the baffle on the pulley rope groove and the drum. As a result, the wire rope of tens of meters or even hundreds of meters is often damaged due to local rolling.
22. Crushing: The steel wire rope is prone to crushing after being wound on the reel in disorder. When the steel wire rope is wound on the reel in disorder, it will be rolled with each other, and"The sound of "rolling and squeaking. The wire rope damage caused by crushing will quickly appear in the local broken wire and flattened marks.

How to prevent wire rope deformation?
12. Trauma: The key to prevent wire rope trauma is to improve the equipment. The rope groove of the pulley shall be provided with a reliable anti-skid groove retaining ring, and the clearance between the retaining ring and the outer ring of the pulley shall not be greater than 1/5 of the diameter of the wire rope.. The wire rope on the drum should not loosen too much to prevent the rope ring from jumping out of the baffle plate and rolling it out when it is tightened.
22. Crushing: The preventive measure is to select the deflection angle between the pulley and the drum according to the design specification. If necessary, a rope arranging device or a rope pressing device can be set in the lifting mechanism to prevent the wire rope from winding up.
3The prevention of kinking can be done from the following three aspects
a3. Use non-rotating wire rope on important lifting equipment.
bSet the rotor at the free end of the wire rope (Also known as anti-rotation device).
c1. Strengthen the responsibility of the operator, stop the operation immediately if any sign of kink is found, and release the restoration.
