Analysis and Judgment of Broken Wire Rope

1. The tension deviation of the traction rope is too large. The on-site inspector measured the tension deviation of several wire ropes with a wire rope dynamometer and calculated it. It was found that the tension of the five wire ropes was basically uniform and the deviation from the average value was not more than 5%, so the wire rope was broken due to this reason.

2. Traction machine traction condition design is unreasonable. In order to ensure the traction capacity required by the design, the wrap angle between the traction rope and the traction sheave should be increased under the condition that the equivalent friction factor is unchanged. If the elevator uses a gearless traction machine and the nominal diameter of the wire rope is 10mm, in order to provide sufficient traction capacity, the elevator is designed as a double winding form to increase the wrap angle. The wire rope needs to be bent and wound in the positive and negative directions on the traction sheave for many times, which greatly affects the service life of the wire rope and puts forward higher requirements on the strength, toughness and bending resistance of the wire rope. Since the elevator is a newly installed passenger elevator, the use time is very short, and the wire rope is basically not worn, the broken wire rope strands can be basically eliminated due to design reasons.

3. Elevator maintenance. The steel wire rope is an important load component of the elevator, which carries all the quality of the elevator car. Special attention should be paid to the maintenance of the steel wire rope during the maintenance of the elevator. The wire rope is basically in a brand-new state, and there is no obvious difference in the appearance quality between the broken strand wire rope and other wire ropes. Therefore, it can be ruled out that the mechanical properties of the wire rope itself are not up to standard or the maintenance is not in place.

4. Elevator in the installation process using unreasonable way to put the rope, resulting in wire rope kinking, resulting in wire rope structure damage, which is also the cause of wire rope into use soon after the broken wire strand. In addition, the improper operation of the operator during installation, mechanical damage to the surface of the wire rope is also an important incentive for wire rope broken strands. Combined with the surface state of the wire rope at the broken strand and the wear of other wire ropes, it is determined that the mechanical damage to the wire rope surface caused by improper operation of the operator is the main reason for the broken strand of the wire rope. However, it is not ruled out that due to the improper way of putting the rope, the wire rope is locally kinked, which causes wear and tear in many operations and causes the wire rope to break.
